A Gift Guide for Homeschool Moms, Part 4

Christmas Gift Guide homeschool Mother Culture Motherhood

I love that creating these little gift guides for homeschool moms has become a blogging tradition!

Homeschooling moms are homeschooling, yes, but they're also hardworking women who deserve nice things and to be thought of.

I am not in the camp that thinks homeschool supplies are the best kind of gift (kind of like gifting dish soap) so I hope you find some other fun ideas on this list to add to your own wishlist or to give to the homeschooling mom in your life!

Check out my previous gift guides for more ideas!

Gifts for the Bookish Homeschool Mom

1. Emma M. Lion: Everyone is talking about this book series, and for good reason. I have book 8 on my own wishlist this Christmas as I've read through the rest of the series. If you're a book lover, you'll love the banter, friendship and book references in this series. I can't recommend it enough!

2. Book Darts or Magnetic Bookmarks: I am usually the one to use old receipts or junk mail to mark my place in a book but when you're reading a lovely book, having a lovely bookmark to go along with it just makes the experience sweeter. I love these book darts (especially for marking things I want to include in my commonplace book) and these magnetic bookmarks!

3. Kindle Paperwhite: This year I got a Kindle for the first time and finally found out what everyone in the Kindle club was talking about. It's changed the way I read, and I love the lighting on the Paperwhite. This time of year is a great time to snag one because they usually go on sale!

4. Bookish Blanket: I adore this bookish pattern from Rifle Paper Co. and have seen it on so many things, but my favorite is this blanket. How perfectly cozy to snuggle up with, with a hot drink and a good book!

Gifts That Are "Just For Her"

5. Matching Pajama Set: You get to a certain age when wearing a matching set to bed makes you feel chic and put together, even if it's just for yourself. I love this one from Old Navy because it comes in a wider range of sizes than most.

6. Tower 28 Eyeshadow Stick: I love wearing eyeshadow, except it's messy and always seems to cake or flake off. I love these eyeshadow sticks because they have an easy application, they  stay on all day and come in really pretty shades!

7. Customizable Raising Wildflowers Necklace: I bought earrings from Hello Adorn about 5 years ago that I wear daily and have been amazing, so I was really excited when I was gifted this necklace from my husband for my birthday. I made mine to have 5 wildflowers to represent the 5 of us in our family. I love that there are so many ways to customize this to something meaningful to you, and I know it will hold up for the long haul!

8. Rowe-Casa:  I know I shared about Rowe-Casa last year, but as they come out with new products and I discover new ones from them I find that I love them more and more! My favorites this year have been the magnesium gel (still), their copper peptide serum and their bar soaps! (And you can still use my code LITTLEHOUSE20 for 20% off your order!)

Gifts for Homeschool Mom Enrichment

9. The Great Recognition Throw Pillow: If you're not a Charlotte Mason homeschooling mom you might not appreciate this as much as I do, but this is the fresco painting that inspired Charlotte Mason's "Great Recognition". I have this on my wish list too this year, to have as a tangible reminder in our school room that it's the Holy Spirit that is the ultimate teacher, not me.

10. Come on Home, A Grace-Filled Guide to Raising a Family Who Loves (and Likes) Each Other: This is the best enrichment book I've read this year. It was so practical and helpful and I highlighted nearly 1/3 of the book! If you're someone who wants to establish a healthy long-term family culture, I think you'll find this book inspiring and encouraging.

11. You Can Folk It Beginner Folk Art Master Course: I've been taking this course over the last few months and it has been so enriching and wonderful! I think it's important for moms to pursue their own interests and to learn new things and this course makes folk painting so easy and accessible! (And my code LITTLEHOUSE10 saves you 10%)

12. The Story of Charlotte Mason: If you're a Charlotte Mason homeschool mom like me, it's important to read about her story. This book gives you so much insight and understanding into her writings and the origins of her method!

Gifts for the Homebody Mom

13. Home Comforts: The Art and Science of Keeping Home: This book is incredibly practical and detailed for every part of keeping home. I consider it my homemaking encyclopedia. It contains information on everything from removing stains, to hosting, to finally figuring out how to fold that darn fitted sheet. It's a fun reference book to have on hand for anyone who gets joy from caring for and being home!

14. Wool Socks: In Harry Potter, Harry asks Dumbledore what he sees in the Mirror of Erised (the mirror that allows the viewer to see their greatest desire). Dumbledore says, "I see myself holding a pair of thick, woolen socks." My kids always tease me about this because truly, I love my wool socks and always ask for a pair for Christmas. They're perfect for hiking in the snow and for keeping my feet warm inside. This is one of my favorite brands!

15. Timeless Book Series: This is the coziest book series. I have really enjoyed each book in this series and when I have down time and want to reach for a quick and enjoyable read, this is the series I'm grabbing. If you haven't read this one yet, put it on your TBR!

16. Sezane Sweater Dupe: If you have a Sezane budget, go for that option, but if not, this Amazon dupe is the comfiest cardigan I own. It's incredibly warm and one of the things in my closet I reach for most often!

Gifts for the Faith-Focused Mom

17. Quiet Time Companion Book: This quiet time companion journal is not only super beautiful but the way it is laid out is very practical and helpful!

18. Spotify Premium: This sounds silly, but as a mom who listens to worship music a lot throughout the day, it would be an amazing gift to not have to listen to advertisements all the time.

19. Juniper Groves Bible Bag: I have loved everything I've ever gotten from Juniper Groves and love that this Bible bag is customizable, handmade and so practical for carrying all of your pens, notebooks and Bible together in one place.

20. Prayer in the Night: For Those Who Work or Watch or Weep: I read this book a few years back and I continually find myself thinking about it. It changed the way I think about prayer and liturgy!

Gifts for the Outdoorsy Mom

21. Wool Base Layer: Having a merino wool base layer is crucial for outdoor winter adventures! If cared for properly they can last such a long time and are perfect for snowshoeing, hiking, sledding or even just sleeping in on cold nights!

22. Water Bottle: I carried this water bottle with me on a 5-day hiking trip this summer and it was perfect. You don't have any of those small parts and straws that need to be babied in the dishwashing process and it stays cool and doesn't leak. That's a huge win in my book!

23. Columbia Hiking Boots: If you're looking for a pair of boots that are lightweight enough to wear in the summer, that are as comfortable as tennis shoes, and are yet still waterproof, these are the ones. I tried on fifty pairs in search for ones like these and they ended up being 1/4 of the price of most other boots!

24. Duluth Trading Heirloom Gardening Overalls: These are way more than just gardening overalls. They're perfect for any kind of work outside or hiking. They're super comfortable and durable!

Gifts for the Maker Mom

25. Easy Fermentation Kit: You can make sauerkraut, pickles, kimchi and more with this kit and it is very easy! Our favorite has been red sauerkraut. It's inexpensive, easy to make and so good for you!

26. Simply Living Well: A Guide to Creating a Natural Low-Waste Home: This is the coolest book. It has so many incredible recipes and inspirational photos and ideas for creating a house that is low waste.

27. How to Sew Clothes: Learn with Intuitive, Super Hackable Patterns: If you want to start sewing your own clothes but don't know how or where to begin, this is the book you need. I have sewn 5 tops and a jacket from this book this year and I love how simple and easy it is. It really gave me a great base of knowledge for getting back into sewing!

28. Basic Sewing Machine: If you have a homeschool mom in your life who is interested in learning to sew, this is a great basic machine! I have one just like this that has served me well over the last 15 years and was very easy to use.

Gifts that Always Fit!

I know that I say this nearly every year, but the gift of help is a gift that fits everyone. Whether that is help with childcare, a night away, a professional deep clean of her home or vehicle, a new robot vacuum or mixer or a pre-made monthly meal plan, the gift of help is invaluable to the work homeschool moms do.

Gift cards for a favorite drink spot, a massage or even for new skincare are practical and can show someone you're thinking of them and they deserve to be treated.

Overall the best kind of gift is the one that comes from a place of thoughtfulness and care. I hope this has given you some ideas for gifts that are practical and fun, for yourself or the homeschooling mom in your life! Happy Homeschooling!
