Habits and Hymns Level 2
CURRICULUM OVERVIEW
Habits and Hymns Level 2 is a Christian, faith-based nine month study of virtues and hymns. Focusing on the life of Jesus, this curriculum is designed to supplement your family Bible study for elementary students. This is the second level of Habits and Hymns, written for ages 6-12.Each month you will teach your child the meaning of a specific virtue and practice it into a habit and learn a corresponding hymn.
HABITS
Through Scripture memorization, Scripture readings and discussion, objection lessons/activities, I am statements and picture books, your child will grow in their understanding of each virtue and you will work together on practicing it into a habit. The nine virtues in this study are:
- Love
- Perseverance
- Thankfulness
- Courage
- Forgiveness
- Generosity
- Humilty
- Diligence
- Hospitality
HYMNS
As a family you will learn the powerful stories of the most popular hymns in church history as well as the tune and lyrics. The nine hymns in this curriculum are:
- My Song is Love Unknown
- Be Thou My Vision
- Praise to the Lord the Almighty
- Oh God Our Help in Ages Past
- All Creatures of Our God and King
- Take My Life and Let it Be
- Jesus I My Cross Have Taken
- To God Be the Glory
- Softly and Tenderly Jesus is Calling
REFLECTION
At the end of the month your child will spend time reflecting, through either oral or written narration, and record their thoughts into their Reflection Journal.
